Registrations will soon be accepted for VISTA 2012-2013 – Volvo Trucks’ and Volvo Buses’ world championship for service and workshop personnel. VISTA 2011 was the biggest yet, involving over 13,700 participants from 75 different countries, however VISTA 2012-2013 has the potential to be even bigger and better.
“The VISTA Development team and myself have been working intensively to set all the rules and formats. We have a new logo, a new website, and new administration system, as well as lots of other improvements,” says Johanna Lundberg, global project manager for VISTA. “This will hopefully be the best VISTA yet, and my objective is to reach over 14,000 participants.”
VISTA (Volvo International Service Training Award) is open to all aftermarket employees within the Volvo Trucks’ and Volvo Buses’ global service network, and to take part, participants must form a team of up to four people. The competition begins in September with the first of three rounds of theoretical questions, which teams complete at their workshops.
For VISTA 2012-2013, the theory rounds will be open for three weeks instead of two. The best performing teams from each region will then earn a place in regional semi finals, which consist of practical workshop tasks. Finally, the best of the best are selected for the world final, which will be held in June 2013, in Volvo’s birthplace and spiritual home: Gothenburg, Sweden.
“VISTA continues to makes a huge contribution to improving competence developing and customer service. Therefore it strongly contributes to our vision of becoming a Customer Company,” says Claes Nilsson, President, Volvo Trucks. “Every participant, no matter how experienced they are, will learn something new, and this is why it continues to be so successful. VISTA is more than a competition – it’s a mass training event and an enjoyable team building exercise. VISTA 2012-2013 won’t be any different.”
