Reining champions hand over VISTA cup

With less than a month to go until the VISTA 2012-2013 world final, reining world champions Avesta Cruising Club recently handed over the cup in preparation for a new winner.

Included with the cup was a short note to the new winners: “Here is the cup, that someone can borrow until 2015 when we will take it back. So – take good care of it! Regards Avesta Cruising Club.”

The Swedish team have proudly had the cup on display at their workshop in Avesta, Sweden, for close to two years now, having won the world final in June 2011. However in 2012-2013, they have not been as lucky and so will be forced to hand it over to one of the 32 teams who have qualified for this year’s final.

In fact, for the first time in the competition’s history, no Swedish team has qualified for the world final. Three world champions have been awarded since 2007, two of which have been Swedish. The third was Team Impact from Austria in 2009. Since no Swedish or Austrian teams have reached the 2012-2013 world final, not only will we definitely see a new VISTA world champion, but we’ll also see the cup travel to a new market.
