A new schedule for VISTA entails that the next edition of the popular aftermarket competition will start in 2015.
The next edition of VISTA, the world’s largest competition for aftermarket personnel held by Volvo Trucks and Buses, will start in 2015 according to the a new schedule. Personnel for Volvo Trucks and Buses, as well as integrated networks in TSM EMEA, APAC and AMERICAS will compete in the 2015-2016 VISTA competition.
VISTA is a highly successful global competition for aftermarket personnel working with Volvo Trucks and Volvo Buses that has been run every second year since 1957. It is the largest aftermarket competition in the world, and in the previous round of competitions, 17,000 participants in 93 countries registered. It is estimated that it has produced over 475,000 hours of additional training for Volvo Trucks and Volvo Buses’ global service network. The previous World Final was held in Gothenburg in June 2013.
The decision to go ahead with the new time schedule for VISTA was taken January 23, 2014, by Volvo Group Commercial Committee (GCC), the new owner of the aftermarket competitions. Following the 2015-2016 edition of the competition, Volvo Trucks and Buses’ personnel as well as integrated networks will continue to compete every second year for a global title.
The schedule change is aimed at widening the popular competence development competition to include more workshop professionals working with other truck brands within the Volvo Group. Starting in 2014 Renault Trucks, Mack Trucks and UD Trucks will start their own branded competitions for workshop professionals. The new schedule also ensures that the markets with integrated networks are able to concentrate their resources on one aftermarket competition per year.
Team Harju, the VISTA team from the Volvo Truck Centre in Tampere, Finland, are the reigning world champions after winning the previous VISTA World Final held in Gothenburg, Sweden on June 27, 2013.
