Round One now closed!

Round One of VISTA 2012-2013 officially closed last Wednesday, with a record high 96.8 percent of participants successfully completing their questions. In some markets, participation even reached 100 percent.

Due to disturbances in some of the supporting systems, such as Trucks Portal and Impact, VISTA organizers have decided to extend the deadline for Round One until 23:59 on 2nd October. Teams have until then to submit their final answers. The time schedule for publishing answers and team rankings has also been pushed back.

When registrations closed at midnight last Friday night, exactly 16,802 people, forming 4443 teams, had signed up – making this easily the biggest VISTA in the competition’s 55-year history.

Asia VISTA 2012-2013 kick-off meeting held in Thailand

On May 17, a kick-off meeting for VISTA 2012-2013 was held in Bangkok, which was attended by 14 Asia VISTA market leaders. Representing an estimated 646 teams, the leaders discussed rules and guidelines, as well as their objectives and ambitious for the upcoming competition. The kick-off meeting follows on from a marketing communication managers kick-off meeting held in Korea last month.

VISTA 2011 was the biggest yet, involving over 13,700 participants from 75 different countries, however VISTA 2012-2013 has the potential to be even bigger and better.

With over 13,700 participants, VISTA 2011 was the biggest in the competition’s 53-year history. By the time registrations closed in September 2010, there 3740 teams made up from personnel from Volvo Trucks’ and Volvo Busses’ global service network. It was also the most global, with 75 countries represented and a host of new markets taking part for the first time.

On June 29, Avesta Cruising Club from Sweden was announced as the winner of the 2011 VISTA world final in Gothenburg. The World Champions can now return home from a competition that originally started with over 13,700 participants from 75 different countries within Volvo Trucks and Volvo Buses global service network.

Round One Over!

At midnight last Sunday night Round One of VISTA 2011 was officially closed. All teams had been given exactly two weeks to complete 30 theoretical questions. Over the next month teams will gradually find out their results and where they stand in their respective competitions.
