The champions are back serving trucks and buses at the Truck Center after an amazing victory at the world final in Curitiba, Brazil on 26 June. Out of 20,000 participating technicians from all over the world, these guys ended in the first position among 40 finalist teams: Meelis Smeiman, Madis Reinpold, Maksim Golenkov and Lauri Raamat.
“Our technicians are very important for Volvo Trucks Europe and they represent the Volvo brand every day. Not only are our trucks very technically advanced, the technicians also deal with our customers in a trustworthy and professional way,” says Roger Alm who decided to work with the winners for a day in Tallinn at the end of October.
“I started my working career as a mechanic and I always try to spend one day a year practicing my skills. I had a great time with the team here in Estonia; they are very good at their job!”
The day at the Volvo Truck Center Tallinn started with a short meeting with workshop manager Avo Vassar before joining the team. Also joining Roger Alm as a technician on this day was Hannes Reinvald, Service Market manager in parts department and Martin Nilsson, MD Volvo Trucks Estonia.
Roger Alm also gave a presentation on Volvo Trucks business in Europe and especially in Estonia to Tech school students, media representatives and Volvo Trucks staff.
Finally, the technician team was asked what is it like to work for Volvo Truck and Bus?
“Working for Volvo can be fun, but it’s also very hard. The work is always interesting, and we never have the same day twice! There can be similar days, but different issues appear every day,” said Madis Reinpold.
“Yes that’s right. It’s always interesting, but sometimes can be very challenging. It’s also a lot of fun!,” said Lauri Raamat (pictured above).
“We understand that Volvo is one of the leading companies in the market, so we know we have to push hard,” said Maksim Golenkov.
“I am very proud to work for Volvo Estonia,” said Meelis Smeiman
